Want to drop off the weekly BoozeLetter before the week is over. This week’s events includ not one but TWO geek sport events – ping pong AND soccer! So polish off your vuvuzelas, and go and cheer on your favorite geek-thlete! (On second thought, maybe leave the vuvuzelas home, I mean, that’s, like, sooo last month….)

Also, wanted to remind everyone that I’m still in the process of finalizing the guest list for the Geek Awards happening next Wednesday (8/18) in LA. I’m told that I can now announce the host of the award show – it’s Ken Jeong from The Hangover and NBC’s Community! Also, Mayer Hawthorne & the County and $mall ¢hange will be playing at the show. (Of course, surprise guest appearances should be expected as well.) If you’re in the LA area next Wednesday and would like to attend the show, please ping me to have your name added to the guest list.
